More results. I got an interesting idea of incorporating a framerate cap as a game mechanic, but couldn't figure out what is the node called that would do that. Maybe the one that launches a console command? And if so, what is the command that caps the framerate in-game. Attachments: Up to 5 attachments including images can be used with a maximum of 5.

You can either set the max framerate higher or just turn it off completely. I recommend turning it off and then turning on v-sync. You will notice that it finds two results of the same bool. Go to the one that is set to true. The can now run up to fps and not go lower than 22fps. Last edited by LumberMiner ; 3 Jan, am. Showing 1 - 10 of 10 comments. Thank you so much for posting this.

I know that the wiki wasn't optimal, but there were many wiki pages developers like me had bookmarked for years beacuse they contained comprehensive and easy information, which is now missing. Why not just keep the wiki read-only online? Just to retain the old pages?
I'm pretty lost right now without some of these articles and I don't understand why the only option you had was to completely disable it. Please think about opening it up again just for read. I don't care about the maintenance mode, but the wiki was an important learning point, which is now gone. Hobby game developer from Germany Follow me on Twitter! Comment Post Cancel.
Arqade is a question and answer site for passionate videogamers on all platforms. It only takes a minute to sign up. I recently built a new computer. It's not mind-blowingly amazing but it's pretty solid, and I can play any game in my Steam library on it.
I've been messing around with graphics settings in Borderlands 2. Right now, I have everything on high, with the FPS set at unlimited. The FPS-counter wildly varies from Although during normal gameplay, it stays pretty close to I have not experienced any screen tearing.
I've noticed that there are settings for limiting the frames per second. The settings are:. Capping your framerate is especially beneficial to laptops or any other sort of mobile computers as it provides an excellent way to keep a laptop from eating its battery alive and also from burning a hole in your crotch.
Using a framerate cap will not provide a reduction in screen tearing. Framerate caps simply throttle a number of frames your video card can produce; they do not force the video card to wait until the monitor has begun a new refresh cycle.
If the framerate you are producing is around fps then you might want to cap it a 50 or 60 as the spikes where it is 75 will feel like your game is slowing down when it goes back down to 55, this is just an example and your actual frames per second may vary. Using v-sync conveys all the benefits listed about framerate caps above, with the added benefit of eliminating screen tearing; however, it does have the drawback of adding some latency.
Generating more frames than your monitor can display is a waste of energy; frame-tearing can only be eliminated by video-syncing, but it can be minimized by capping FPS at the monitor frequency.Sarap kantutin anak
However, input-latency is a related consideration. Given two quantized systems, a image generation, and b image rendering, any disparity between the rates must on occasion result in tearing if they are not mutually excluded from occurring concurrently by syncing the GPU and monitorand any FPS in excess of the physical limits of the monitor is wasted.Posts Latest Activity.

This is the hardware refresh rate for the displays and it is fixed at 90 FPS.
This means you need to be rendering your frames about once every 11ms. Anything more than that is unacceptable. You'll notice that half of 90 is This is what's happening to your game. What you should be doing is running the GPU performance visualizer every time your scene is not hitting at least 90 FPS. You'll get a pop up window which shows you a bar segmented into different colors, with each bar being a slice of time. You can click on each bar to see what it is and how much time is being consumed to render that frame.
I've been doing this quite a bit in the last few days, so I can give you a few pointers on what causes performance hits. Particularly dynamic shadows.
Currently, getting good lighting in VR is all about trickery, fakery and black magic. How do you figure out how much each part of the scene costs your GPU? I use the scientific method coupled with the process of elimination. Here are my general steps: 1 Observe a performance problem FPS drops below 90 FPS for an extended period of time and consistently 2 Form a hypothesis on what could be causing the problem. Use the performance visualizer to see where your spending most of your time in the render loop.

How to set max framerate with blueprints?
I noticed that if I run the game from a batch file it adds a new smoothframrate variable to the config file and sets it to true, even though I've turned it off everywhere. I've also changed the upper fps limit to in editer and config file which it doesn't seem to change after running but it's still stuck at exactly 60 FPS no matter what I look at or do in game. You should be able to adjust the cap there. This is because that is the universal refresh rate of. Most games don't allow the frame rate to go over 60 fps.
WoW is an example of this. It maybe that they simply update the fps system so that it won't write a value over 60, since 60 is the true cap.
No, epic didn't force everyone down to 60 fps. I want to know what is overriding my fps settings Hey Adam thanks for the reply. This is actually the first thing I tried to change but it was not doing anything.Limit FPS in Unreal Engine Viewport Tutorial
It was still being overwritten here. Then I tried to change it in the config files and it was still being overwritten. I was able to fix it by just deleting my project and repulling everything from our github repository as nobody else on the team was having the problem. Never found out what the mysterious overriding cap was though.
Not sure if this'll help, but I just encountered a similar issue on DK2. My computer also perfectly capable of pushing over 60fps in stereo but completely locked. The interesting bit is that even setting the boolean on that node to false it was still locked at 60, it was only when I removed the link to node that the framerate went back to up Attachments: Up to 5 attachments including images can be used with a maximum of 5.
